Unincorporated areas of the Palos Verdes Peninsula fall under LA County jurisdiction, so where you place your dump trailer determines whether a permit is needed:

• Private Property (No Permit Needed): If the dumpster fits completely on your private driveway, private parking space, or within your property boundary, no permit is required.

• Public Street Placement (Permit Required): If your dump trailer needs to sit on a public road, alleyway, or public right-of-way, you must obtain a Road Encroachment Permit from the LA County Department of Public Works before delivery day. Permits are valid for up to 7 consecutive days. The Westchester field office serves this area at (310) 649-6300. Many Peninsula neighborhoods also have active HOAs with their own restrictions on dump trailer visibility and duration always check with your HOA before scheduling.

The Peninsula's steep canyon roads, switchback driveways, and large estates require careful pre-delivery assessment. We check road grade prior to every Peninsula delivery grades above 6% may require on-property placement rather than street placement. Dump trailer wheels are locked on inclines to prevent rolling, and protective boards protect all driveway surfaces. Many Peninsula driveways are long enough that the dump trailer can be placed well onto the property, keeping it off the street and out of the HOA's sight lines.

LA County and California state law mandate diversion of clean C&D materials on applicable projects. We route concrete, dirt, green waste, and cardboard to certified South Bay facilities at competitive rates. We do not accept: paint, liquid waste, motor oil, tires, batteries, asbestos, propane tanks, medical waste, solvents, pesticides, or refrigerants. Household hazardous waste can be dropped off at the LA County SAFE Center at 1400 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro (Saturdays and Sundays, 9am–3pm).
