Palos Verdes Estates has strict placement rules tighter than most South Bay cities:

• Private Property (Preferred): Dump trailers placed entirely on your private driveway or property are the standard approach in PVE. The City's Municipal Code prohibits placing refuse our 10-yard dump trailer adjacent to the street or on City parkland so keeping your trailer on-property isn't just convenient, it's often required.

• Public Street Placement (Athens Permit Required): All dump trailers placed on public streets within PVE must be serviced under a permit issued by Athens Services, the City's exclusive franchised hauler. Contact Athens at (888) 336-6100 for street-placed dump trailers. For any work near the public right-of-way, contact Code Enforcement at (310) 378-0383 with questions.

Because PVE's Municipal Code restricts street-side placement, placing your dump trailer on-property is not just preferred it's often required. PVE's large lot sizes typically make this easy: most driveways and side yards can accommodate our 10-yard dump trailer with room to spare. We use protective boards under all placements to prevent damage to tile, pavers, or concrete. For properties with steep or winding driveways, we assess grade and clearance before scheduling. Our drivers are familiar with the area's narrow canyon roads and will confirm access when you book.

California's C&D recycling mandates apply to permitted construction projects in PVE. We divert clean concrete, dirt, green waste, and cardboard to South Bay recycling facilities. We cannot accept: paint, liquid waste, motor oil, tires, batteries, asbestos, propane tanks, medical waste, solvents, pesticides, or refrigerants. For household hazardous waste, the LA County SAFE Center at 1400 N. Gaffey St., San Pedro accepts drop-offs on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am–3pm.
