In Manhattan Beach, where you place your dump trailer determines whether a permit is needed:
Private Property (No Permit Needed): If the dumpster fits completely on your private driveway, private parking space, or within a designated commercial loading area, no permit is required.
Public Street Placement (Permit Required): Manhattan Beach Municipal Code Section 7.36.030 requires a Right-of-Way (ROW) permit for any encroachment in the public right-of-way. Applications are submitted through the Energov portal, and you must post city-issued Temporary No Parking signs on the block at least 72 hours before delivery. South Bay Haul manages the full permit and sign-posting process on your behalf just let us know you need street placement when you book.

Manhattan Beach's residential lots from the walk streets near the sand to the Hill Section's wide driveways vary widely in access. Most Hill Section and inland properties can accommodate our 10-yard dump trailer on the driveway with no permit required. Walk street properties and oceanfront homes often require street placement and the full ROW permit process. We use protective planks under all dump trailer placements to protect your concrete or paver driveway.

Manhattan Beach enforces California's construction and demolition (C&D) recycling requirements, which mandate that a significant percentage of C&D debris be diverted from landfill on permitted projects. We route clean concrete, dirt, green waste, and cardboard to South Bay recycling facilities. We do not accept: paint, liquid waste, motor oil, tires, batteries, asbestos, propane tanks, medical waste, solvents, pesticides, or refrigerants.
